How does the tripod work?
The EMDR Kit Wireless LightTube comes with a sturdy, professional-grade tripod designed to hold the LightTube securely. It is highly versatile and can be adjusted in height from 34 centimeters to 153 centimeters (1.1 to 5 feet) to ensure the visual stimulus is at the correct level for your client.
Initial Setup
To set up the tripod for the first time:
Spread the legs: Spread the three tripod legs outward. With each leg, you should hear three clicks.
Note on Packaging: If your kit arrived with a carrying bag, the legs have already been folded outward.
Check the Orientation: The central column locking knob must face upward. It should not be positioned on the bottom side of the tripod head.
Attaching the LightTube
The central column comes already attached to the LightTube. To secure it to the tripod base:
Angle the Column: Loosen the adjustment knob and angle the column downward. Fix it into position by retightening the knob.
Loosen the Base: Before inserting the column into the tripod base, slightly loosen the central screw by turning it counterclockwise.
Insert and Lock: Insert the column into the base. Secure it firmly by rotating the central screw clockwise.
Adjusting the Height
The central column and tripod legs can both be adjusted to reach the desired height for optimal eye tracking:
Unlock: First, twist the leg or column section to the left.
Slide: Pull the section upward or downward to set it to the desired height.
Lock: To lock it in place, simply twist the lower section to the right until it is firm.
Maintenance Tip
If the tripod legs become too tight or too loose over time, you can adjust them easily. Use the hex key supplied with the tripod to set the tension of the joints as needed.
Troubleshooting: Adjusting the Middle Column
If you find that the height adjustment of your tripod feels loose, stuck, or won't tighten correctly, the middle section may have become unseated from its screw-thread. This can occasionally happen with frequent height adjustments.
Follow these three simple steps to reset the alignment:
Detach: Completely unscrew the middle locking collar.
Align & "Click": Position the collar directly above the screw-thread. Apply gentle downward pressure until you feel (or hear) it "click" into its proper groove.
Secure: Carefully screw the collar back on.
Important: Do not over-tighten; the fitting should be secure enough to hold the weight, but loose enough to allow the Light Tube to slide into place easily.
Tip: It may take a moment to "feel" the thread align, but once it clicks, the tripod will regain its full stability.
