Preventing Incoming Calls & Messages

How can I prevent incoming calls or messages?

To ensure an uninterrupted therapy session with your EMDR Kit Wireless, you can silence all external notifications. Incoming calls or messages can disrupt the auditory bilateral stimulation or break the client's focus during critical working memory taxation phases.

You can choose between two effective methods to silence your device, depending on your preference for connectivity.

Option 1: Do Not Disturb (Focus Mode)

This is a convenient choice if you want to silence most interruptions while remaining technically "online."

  • For iOS (iPhone & iPad): Swipe down from the top-right corner to open the Control Center. Tap the Focus button (crescent moon icon) and select Do Not Disturb. Ensure "Silence Notifications" is set to Always in your device settings.

  • For Android: Swipe down from the top of your screen twice and tap the Do Not Disturb icon. Long-press the icon to ensure "Calls" and "Messages" are set to None, while keeping "Media" allowed so the EMDR Kit audio still functions.

Option 2: Flight Mode (Airplane Mode)

This is the most secure method for reliability, as it physically cuts off cellular and Wi-Fi signals.

  • The Process: Turn on Flight mode in your quick settings. This will prevent any signals or messages from reaching your device.

  • Important Step: Flight mode typically turns off Bluetooth automatically. You must manually turn Bluetooth back on immediately after enabling Flight mode. This allows you to stay "offline" while maintaining a stable connection to your LightTube and Pulsators.

Tip: Check Vibration

Regardless of the mode you choose, ensure your device's vibration is turned off. Even if the phone is silent, the physical "buzz" on a hard surface like a desk or table can be highly distracting for a client during a quiet phase of processing.
