How can I use my own music or sounds?
With the EMDR Kit Wireless, you have the flexibility to play your own music and sound files bilaterally through the app. This feature allows you to customize the auditory stimulation to better suit your client's preferences or to use specific therapeutic soundscapes during a session.
By using your own files, you can ensure the auditory component of the bilateral stimulation is as effective and comfortable as possible for each individual protocol.
How to select custom sounds
To use your own music or sound files, follow these steps within the EMDR Kit app:
Open the App: Open the EMDR Kit App.
Access Headphone Settings: Tap the Headphone icon to open the audio sub-menu.
Select Custom Sound: Under the "Select Sound" section, select the option labeled "Custom."
Choose Your File: You will then be prompted to browse your smartphone or tablet for the specific music or sound file you wish to use.
Test the Audio: Once selected, the file will be processed by the app to ensure it plays bilaterally (alternating between the left and right ears) in sync with your other EMDR Kit components.
Supported File Formats
Most standard audio formats compatible with your mobile device (such as .mp3 or .wav) can be uploaded and used within the app.
Adjusting Volume and Balance
Once your custom sound is loaded, you can still use the app's internal sliders to adjust the volume. The app will automatically apply the alternating bilateral effect to your file, so there is no need to edit the audio into a "left-right" format beforehand.
