Using the Tripod (Classic)
The EMDR Kit Classic Light Tube includes a professional-grade tripod designed to provide a stable base for visual bilateral stimulation. Highly adjustable, the tripod can be set between 34 centimeters and 153 centimeters (1.1 to 5 feet) in height, allowing you to position the Light Tube perfectly for any seated or standing client.
Initial Setup
To prepare the tripod for your first session:
Spread the legs: Pull the three tripod legs outward. You should hear three distinct clicks for each leg as they lock into the standard wide-base position.
Note on Packaging: If your kit arrived inside a carrying bag, the legs have already been folded outward for you.
Check the Orientation: Ensure the central column locking knob is facing upward. It should not be positioned on the underside of the tripod head.
Attaching the Light Tube
The central column is pre-attached to your Light Tube. To secure it to the tripod base:
Angle the Column: Loosen the adjustment knob on the Light Tube and angle the column downward so it is perpendicular to the tube. Tighten the knob to fix the angle.
Loosen the Base: Slightly loosen the large central screw on the tripod base by turning it counterclockwise.
Insert and Lock: Insert the column into the base. Secure the connection by rotating the central screw clockwise until firm.
Adjusting the Height
Both the central column and the individual tripod legs use a "twist-lock" system for height adjustment:
Unlock: Twist the desired section to the left (counterclockwise).
Slide: Pull the section upward or downward to reach the preferred height.
Lock: Twist the section firmly to the right (clockwise) to secure it in place.
Maintenance Tip
Over time, the tripod legs may become loose or overly tight due to regular use. You can easily maintain the tripod using the hex key supplied in your kit to adjust the tension of the leg joints to your preference.
Troubleshooting: Adjusting the Middle Column
If the height adjustment feels loose, stuck, or won't tighten correctly, the middle section may have become unseated from its screw-thread. This can occasionally happen with frequent height adjustments.
Follow these three simple steps to reset the alignment:
Detach: Completely unscrew the middle locking collar.
Align & "Click": Position the collar directly above the screw-thread. Apply gentle downward pressure until you feel (or hear) it "click" into its proper groove.
Secure: Carefully screw the collar back on.
Important: Do not over-tighten; the fitting should be secure enough to hold the weight, but loose enough to allow the Light Tube to slide into place easily.
Tip: It may take a moment to "feel" the thread align, but once it clicks, the tripod will regain its full stability.
